Who wrote this, and why.
Nutrae is a UAE brand developing a single-ingredient Ca-AKG capsule, and this guide is on our own website. Sales are not open: visitors can register interest at launch pricing, and no payment is taken. We wrote this guide to show how we judge the Ca-AKG category — and to be specific about where our planned product fits those criteria and where it does not.
You should weigh that conflict of interest. Everything checkable below links to a page you can read yourself, and the limits of our product are stated in the same breath as its specifications.
Methodology: documents, not vibes.
Every claim in this guide traces to a document you can open. Human studies are catalogued on our Science page — 21 primary human reports across our three ingredients, published between 1990 and 2026 — and the Ca-AKG subset is summarised in plain language in our ingredient primer. Quality documents, including Certificates of Analysis, are tracked live on the COA & Quality page: what is published, what is pending, and what is still awaiting a verified document.
Where a number is a target rather than a verified result, this guide says target. Where human evidence is thin, it says so. We do not use reviews, ratings or testimonials, and we do not name competitor products — the comparison below uses generic categories you can apply to any label in front of you.
Six checks before you buy any Ca-AKG.
- Exact form. Ca-AKG is the calcium salt of alpha-ketoglutarate and the form used in most human research. A label that says only “AKG” or “alpha-ketoglutarate complex” leaves the form — and the calcium contribution — unstated.
- Dose per capsule, in milligrams. Human studies used gram-level daily amounts — roughly 6 g of alpha-ketoglutarate per day in a 2007 randomized study in postmenopausal women — far above what one capsule of any brand delivers. You need the per-capsule figure to do honest arithmetic.
- Single ingredient versus blends. A defined single-ingredient capsule lets you inspect the active, the amount and the evidence without decoding a proprietary blend. Blends are not automatically bad, but they make verification your problem.
- Purity and batch verification. Ask for a lot-specific Certificate of Analysis covering identity and assay. If none is published, an honest live status page — showing the document slot and its state — is the next best signal, and silence is the worst.
- UAE regulatory context. In Dubai, supplements are registered through Montaji, the Dubai Municipality product-registration route. A brand open about working through registration is a safer bet than a grey import with no local accountability.
- Honest availability and pricing. A clear price in AED, no invented discounts, and truthful stock status. “Launching soon” should mean exactly that — not a checkout that quietly takes money.
The criteria, side by side.
| Criterion | Why it matters | What to check on the label or site |
|---|---|---|
| 01Exact form | Most human research used the calcium salt; free-acid AKG is a different ingredient with different calcium load. | The supplement-facts line names “calcium alpha-ketoglutarate” — not “AKG blend”. |
| 02Dose per capsule | Studied amounts are gram-level; a capsule count without milligrams hides how far below research doses a product sits. | Milligrams of the named compound per capsule, and capsules per bottle. |
| 03Composition | A single defined active is inspectable; proprietary blends are not. | One active ingredient, with fillers clearly separated from actives. |
| 04Batch verification | Purity is a per-lot fact, not a brand slogan. | A lot-specific COA, or a public status page tracking it. Absence of both is a red flag. |
| 05UAE registration | Montaji registration is the local accountability route for supplements in Dubai. | The brand says where it stands with registration instead of implying approval. |
| 06Availability honesty | A store that is not open should not behave like one. | Price in AED, truthful stock or reservation status, no pressure countdowns. |
Nutrae Ca-AKG against the same six checks.
- Form: calcium alpha-ketoglutarate, stated by full name on the product page — nothing else active in the capsule.
- Dose: 250 mg per capsule, 100 capsules per bottle. That is deliberately far below gram-level study doses; the label will state the suggested use, and we do not borrow results from higher-dose research.
- Composition: single ingredient. One defined compound per product is the whole Nutrae design.
- Batch verification: purity release-specification target is 99%. No lot-specific finished-product COA is published yet — the document slot and its live status are public on the COA & Quality page, which updates when the verified document lands.
- Registration: launch remains subject to Montaji product registration, advertising approval and final signed release documents. We say so on every page rather than implying a done deal.
- Availability and price: reservation-only. AED 199 one bottle, AED 349 two bottles, AED 449 three bottles — launch pricing shown for information, not an offer to sell today. No payment is taken and no pre-orders are accepted.
The honest limits: human Ca-AKG studies used different doses, formulations and populations from this planned capsule, no finished Nutrae product has been tested in a randomized human trial, and ingredient findings cannot be transferred automatically to it.
Who this is not for.
Skip Ca-AKG — ours or anyone's — if you expect one capsule to reproduce gram-level study doses; the arithmetic does not work and no brand can change it. Because Ca-AKG contributes calcium, anyone managing kidney or calcium-balance conditions, using medicines, pregnant or nursing, or preparing for surgery should speak with a qualified clinician first. And if you want an outcome someone can promise in advance, no supplement can offer that — walk away from any page that says otherwise.
Ca-AKG FAQ.
What is the best Ca-AKG supplement in the UAE?
The best Ca-AKG supplement in the UAE is one that names calcium alpha-ketoglutarate as its exact form, states the milligrams per capsule, publishes or openly tracks batch-level Certificates of Analysis, and is sold by a company working through Montaji product registration. Nutrae's planned Ca-AKG capsule is built to those criteria: 250 mg per capsule, 100 capsules, single ingredient, reservation pricing of AED 199.
Is Ca-AKG worth taking?
Human evidence for Ca-AKG is limited and mostly measures biomarkers rather than everyday outcomes. Published studies used higher doses and specific populations, and their findings cannot be transferred automatically to any finished capsule. Read the study record before deciding; the Nutrae Science page keeps the sources, including the limitations.
What is the difference between Ca-AKG and AKG?
AKG is alpha-ketoglutarate, a natural intermediate of cellular energy metabolism. Ca-AKG is its calcium salt — the form used in most human research — and it also contributes calcium. A label that only says AKG does not tell you which form is inside or how much calcium comes with it.
How much does a Ca-AKG supplement cost in the UAE?
Nutrae launch reservation pricing is AED 199 for one bottle of 100 capsules, AED 349 for two bottles and AED 449 for three. Ordering is not open today: no payment is taken and no pre-orders are accepted, only interest registration.
Is Ca-AKG safe?
Long-term supplemental safety data in healthy adults remain limited. Ca-AKG contributes calcium, so total calcium intake matters. People with kidney or calcium-balance conditions, those using medicines, anyone pregnant or nursing, or anyone preparing for surgery should seek qualified medical advice before use.
Can I buy Nutrae Ca-AKG today?
No. Sales are not open on nutrae.ae. Launch remains subject to Montaji product registration, advertising approval and final signed release documents. You can register interest at the launch price of AED 199 per bottle, and no card details are collected.
